Hurricane Helene

Many are struggling in the aftermath of Helene

There are many ways both big and small that you can help

Since Hurricane Helene made landfall on September 26th, we have seen massive devastation, loss of infrastructure, homes, businesses, and lives across the southeast but in particular in western North Carolina. Many communities are still without power or basic necessities, and it will take many years to rebuild what has been lost. Here at HQ Psych we are saddened to witness the destruction left in the wake of hurricane Helene, but also encouraged by all of the people who have come together to help deliver aid during this crisis.

While we cannot erase the pain and loss caused by the hurricane, we can contribute in meaningful ways. Whether it’s through donations to relief organizations, volunteering our time, or simply reaching out to check on friends and family in affected areas, every action counts.

If you are interested in learning more about ways to help, please take a look at the Blue Ridge Public Radio’s list of vetted organizations that are in need of support. Through the state of NC, you may also check out the NC Disaster Relief Fund where you can donate directly, or look for volunteer opportunities. If you or a loved one has been directly impacted by the storm, please take a look at NC’s emergency management page for resources and immediate assistance.
