Megan Connell, Psy.D. ABPP She/Her

Dr. Connell specializes in treating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, depression, and working with women and girls on the autism spectrum. She works with those age 14 and up. Dr. Connell brings in her geek and pop culture interests into her work to help her clients achieve their therapy goals. She is a co-founder of the media company Geeks Like Us and is the author of Tabletop Role-Playing Therapy a Guide for the Clinician Game Master.

Ryan Kelly, MA, Ph.D.

Dr. Kelly (“Dr. K”) sees a wide array of populations and needs, but stands out in his work with 6-30 year old clients with ADHD, autism, quarter-life crisis, anxiety, mood disorders, problematic gaming, and school success. His primary therapeutic modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Positive Psychology. He is a pioneer in the use of media, virtual reality (VR), role-playing games (e.g., DnD), and video games as a way to improve the efficacy of his treatment. He is cofounder of a health-and-gaming media company, and currently sits on the board for two health-tech companies and Geek Therapeutics, an APA certified training company.

Chris Love He/Him

Meet Chris Love, he strives to implement counseling services that supports a holistic approach to wellness. Chris is a North Carolina board certified addictions counselor with a wide variety of clinical experience supporting individuals and families. Over the years Chris has worked in all different levels of mental health treatment. Getting his start working in Intensive Outpatient care and going on to eventually help create North Carolina's first Recovery High School in 2019. Chris connects best with individuals 14-30 years old and strives to make a lasting impact in his hometown and each of his clients and families life's.

Jonathan Anslow, Psy.D. He/Him

Psychologist

Dr. Anslow enjoys serving a variety of populations including adults, adolescents, and older children. Whenever possible he likes to incorporate family members into treatment to offer parental guidance or address family dynamics. Dr. Anslow strives to be compassionate, non-judgmental, and open-minded in his practice. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. He Enjoys and has experience working with couples, childhood and divorce issues, sexual identity, trauma, anxiety, depression, and drug and alcohol problems.

Melanie Fossinger She/Her

Medication Management for Ages 13+

Melanie is a dual-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in treating adolescents and young adults. Melanie is able to provide medication management and therapeutic support for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Melanie approaches all of her patients with curiosity, openness, and understanding. She strives to help her patients reach their own goals and find stability during the transitional adolescent years. Originally from Charlotte, Melanie has spent many professional years in Boston and is now excited to provide telehealth appointments to our patients.

Ginelle Wolfe, Ph.D She/Her

Post Doctoral Psychologist

I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology and media communications from Muhlenberg College. I received my PhD in counseling psychology from The University of Akron.  I have worked in college counseling centers, hospital settings, and an outpatient traumatic stress center, providing individual and family therapy for patients with concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to eating disorders and PTSD. I have received extensive supervision and training in providing therapy for individuals who have experienced interpersonal trauma. I enjoy working with various presenting concerns, including anxiety & depression, identity-related issues, managing interpersonal difficulties, and processing trauma & exploring its impacts on current functioning.

Kahlin Whatley is a Master Social Worker (MSW) specializing in masculinity, LGBTQIA+ issues, and narrative-based therapy. As a certified Applied Game Master with over a decade of film industry experience, he helps clients engage in meaningful, life-changing stories to support personal growth and mental well-being. He integrates evidence-based practices with creative approaches to help clients reflect on their experiences and cultivate personal growth.

My name is Michael James Garrett, MA, LMFT.  I graduated with my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy from Argosy University, San Diego and have been in the mental health field for 11 years.I utilize Geek Fandoms as a method to process life’s challenges.  I grew up admiring superheroes because they were willing to keep fighting, even when they themselves were struggling.  I fully believe using one’s own knowledge, story, and understanding of the hero’s journey can help others find a path to recovery.  Through coaching and support, this is a journey I am willing to walk with you.

Eric works with clients on key areas related to executive functioning, such as organization, planning, prioritization, multitasking, self-control, and focus to ultimately make the process of goal setting and achievement habitual. Eric's intervention style is two-pronged and involves (a) creating individualized strategies to exercise and strengthen executive functioning skills, and (b) identify and deploy external tools to offload work where necessary and possible. With each client, the ultimate goal is to not only address the most pressing, immediate challenges, but develop systems that will be useful in all stages of life.

Meet our office administrator and intake coordinator, Cari! Cari earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University, where she gained experience promoting counseling center services as a Mental Health Ambassador with the ASU Counseling Center. Cari has worked for over 9 years as a Patient Care Coordinator and other roles within healthcare. She enjoys creating, reading, and appreciating the outdoors.
