Looking to 2024

The Health Quest Lobby in the Gibson Building

This year has been an amazing year of growth for Health Quest. We opened our new space, welcomed several new providers, and started offering new services! 2024 will be an even bigger year for us all!

Health Quest Founders 2023 reflections

Dr. Megan Connell

Megan A. Connell, PsyD, ABPP

2023 has been amazing! We have the opening of our flagship location for Health Quest, welcomed so many new amazing providers and are starting up our innovative interventions. My first solo book, Tabletop Role-Playing Therapy released in March from W.W. Norton. It sold over 1,000 copies in the first two months of release. My work on applied gaming was featured on the BBC, NPR, CBC, several podcasts, and even the Philip DeFranco show! I was able to be a consultant for Dropout TV’s Mentoplis series. I have continued to speak on the intersection of psychology and games at conventions across the country. I also got to start running my TTRPG Therapy groups in our amazing immersive gaming room and am looking forward to running more groups, giving trainings, and more in 2024

Dr. Ryan Kelly

Ryan Kelly, Ph.D.

2023 has been a banner year! Getting to see our vision for Health Quest become a reality has been such a high point for us as well as growing our clinical staff. This year I was also an exhibitor at the World Sleep Congress. A sleep application, Pocket Kado, that I have been consulting on was awarded best digital health application by the Sleep Foundation. The Psychology of Elden Ring was released by Leyline publishing this year. I have also been doing consultation work with various media groups to include Riot, Epic, and Dropout, to improve representation of mental health in media. I have also consulted with Amelia VR and Revery Labs. I have continued to speak nationally on the intersection of gaming, fandoms and psychology. 2024 is going to be even more exciting with more happening at Health Quest, new programs, new services and more.

Our Providers and Staff’s reflections on 2023

Ginelle Wolfe, PhD

2023 was a transformative year for me! I completed my doctorate in counseling psychology, moved to Charlotte, and started working at Health Quest, where I've already had the pleasure of meeting so many incredible people. As I move into 2024, I’m looking forward to leading groups and deepening connections in our community- I hope to hold events and groups related to body image, trauma, and gender identity!

Melanie Fossinger, MSN, RN, AGPCNP-BC, WHNP-BC

"This year was a time of transition, and I am thankful to have been able to move back to my home state and spend more time with my family. In 2024 I look forward to growing veggies in my backyard."

Jonathan Anslow, PsyD

2023 for me was all about big changes. After nearly 17 years with a local group practice I found my way over to Health Quest with my pals and colleagues Dr's Connell and Kelly! The emphasis on innovation here is charging to me - I love the new space and feel quite settled in. I don't know what the future holds (flying cars, perhaps?), but I'm going to continue to grow my practice in my new professional home and perhaps co-panel my first big geek-themed convention (TBD)! Aside from that I will be returning to the San Diego Comic Con after a 6 year hiatus and this time I'll be bringing my family!

Chris Love, CADC

2023 has been an impactful year for growth in my career. My journey with Health Quest has allowed me to dig in my roots and grow. 2023 has been about creating and expanding not only for myself but for my clients as well. I was able to develop a weekly mens group and collaborate with many healthcare facilities around the US. This year I was also able to host my annual Holiday Family Workshop in the new space with a great turnout. During 2023 I pushed myself to lean into the discomfort of public speaking. I was able to speak at many public and private schools in the area sharing education and prevention. Excited for what is to come in the new year, Happy Holidays.

Kate Kingsley, PN1

2023 has been an interesting year full of change and growth. I have been fortunate enough to co-founded two companies this year! While building these has been a dream come true, it has not been without its ups and downs. Every adventure has its challenges, and these challenges have helped me continue to grow and develop not only as a business owner but as an individual and nutritional coach also! I am beyond thankful to have been welcomed into the HQ team and family and am so excited to continue to spread knowledge and understanding of nutrition as we head into 2024!

Events!

Kate Kingsley, PN1, will be hosting New Year Nutrition.

We will be going over basic nutritional knowledge starting with understanding nutritional labels on packaging and taking a side by side look at traditional snacks that everyone enjoys and some healthier versions of these snacks! Come take the first step in taking control of your nutrition and start out the year with some new knowledge!

Dr. Megan Connell will be hosting a women’s low sensory board game night featuring Wingspan

There are so many amazing board games out there to to learn how to play! While many gaming stores offer demo nights for games they can often be in a loud overstimulating environment that might not feel welcoming to women gamers. Our low-sensory women's only game night is for women to come in and learn about different amazing boardgames and try their hand at a round or two of the games! Dr. Megan Connell, author of Tabletop Role-Playing Therapy, will be leading these nights helping players learn the gaming mechanics, strategy and answering questions that anyone might have. No experience is needed!

Groups!
